I was asked the other day how it was that I could motivate anyone. He then proceeded to tell me how he wasn’t going to do a damn thing unless he wanted to.
This is a question I get a lot. Unfortunately, it’s not a big secret…it’s quite simple.
Believe that you can change something.
Believe that you are the person with the solution.
Believe that you are the one who will make it happen.
Figure out how you can implement the seeds of change?
Speak it loud and proud so that everyone can hear.
It sounds pretty simple…but this is what I ask everyone to do. I ask everyone, everyday to pick 1 thing (just one) in your community that needs to change, and decide what you think is wrong with that 1 thing. How can you make that change happen? What will it take? Who needs to know in order to make this change possible? How do we get from point A to point Z?
Then you start talking…talking ….talking to everyone you can possibly imagine. Talk about it on the bus, in the library, in the store, at the cash register…everywhere. Suddenly people will start wanting you to talk about your idea with others…lots of others. Suddenly you’re speaking to many many people, all who believe that this change should happen.
In microminutes, you’re riding a wave of change into a new future, a better future…because you spoke up.
That’s what I want people to do.
What can you change in your community?
